No Cons till MegaCon. I wanted to though give you guys some insight into a wonderful group that is coming together. The Butterfly Chronicles

Not only am I getting to be one of the 'characters' in this forum/online story but I've had the chance to work with Joshua Cole, one of the creators/armorers on the project. Both of us are now writing the story line for this wonderful group. He provides the bones, I slap on the meat. Mmm. Meat.



The Butterfly Chronicles

Here is the story:


Hemlock. It was the poison of choice for the ancient Greeks, killer of Socrates.
In 2531 it was the means by which mankind took to the stars. The compound was a miracle drug that lengthened life, regenerated dead tissue, and improved physical performance.

When administered consistently through IV, the human body would go into a catatonic hibernation, enabling an individual to endure the once grueling experience of deep space travel. Like any miracle, Hemlock was controlled by the Gods, or in this case, the Unified Imperium.

The Imperium was a collection of planetary systems with the solid vision of a utopian intergalactic society. To enforce this society, the Representative Coalition of Systems (RCS) provided all the military backbone needed to maintain civil order and obedience.

Soldiers recruited for the RCS from the various territories were lured by the promise of immortality and glory. The rigorous physical, and mental training was augmented by frequent dosages of the Hemlock drug and came to be known as Hemlock Conditioning. Once raw recruits were metamorphosed into soldiers that felt invulnerable, euphoric and were entirely devoted to the Imperium.

Accompanying every RCS unit are Big Brothers, cybernetic golems of machine and flesh, once human. Every person serving the Imperium knew that if the android-paramedic Valkries came for a fallen brother, that he would return to the battle field fighting as though something not human.

Yet, Hemlock’s reanimation of dead tissue was not without a price The Imperium fulfilled their promise of eternal life to their enlisted men, and some of the fallen soldiers would face a different fate than that of the Big Brothers.
Inhabitants of the systems began to murmur about the reborn, reanimated soldiers, calling them Butterflies. The name became synonymous with the boogieman. Some pitied the souls trapped within the dark confines of drug doses and metal plating. Others were sure that they were a blight on the face of humanity, still others considering them the next big evolution for the human race.

Questions circled like vultures, was this drug a miracle? Or was it he beginning of something else entirely? Only through the tales of the Butterfly Chronicles will the truth be ultimately revealed.



About the group:

There are other groups out there, costuming, role playing, and genre-related, none are like this one. There are no politics, no drama, and no ridiculous topics. This group is all about creating a unique persona, a unique costume.

You will not walk through a crowd at a convention and come face to face with someone wearing the same costume. This is your story. You are the main character. You are only hindered by your own limits, and we are here to help you jump over them.
Tutorials will assist you putting together your costume, from jet packs, to arm communicators and weapons. Nightmare Armor
Industries is the backbone of this group, providing upgrades and assistance.

Doesn’t matter if you have $100-$2000 there will be something you can do to make your costume epic. You want something different for your helmet? It can be done.
NAI’s vision doesn’t stagnate at conventions. They plan on taking this costuming group beyond the mediocrity of fanboys and anime nerds.

Imagine being a part of a video game, comic book or a short film. Active troops will have the chance to be a part of all of that. So. Do you have what it takes to make it onto the roster? Can you make it as a member of the Butterfly Chronicles?
